Staticar Privacy Policy

Staticar collects minimal data to provide core functionality:

• Vehicle information you enter (make, model, year, mileage)
• Expense records you create (fuel, maintenance, insurance)
• Maintenance schedules and reminders you set
• App preferences and settings
• Basic usage analytics to improve app performance (anonymous)

Important: All this data is stored locally on your device by default.

Staticar does NOT collect:

• Your location or GPS tracking data
• Personal identification information (beyond what you voluntarily provide)
• Financial account information or payment details
• Contact lists or phone book access
• Camera or microphone data (unless you explicitly use these features)
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Browsing history or web activity

Staticar follows a local-first approach:

• All vehicle data is stored primarily on your device using SQLDelight database
• App preferences and settings remain on your device
• Vehicle photos and attachments are stored locally
• Optional cloud backup (Premium feature) uses Appwrite with end-to-end encryption

Cloud Sync (Optional): If you choose to enable cloud synchronization (Premium feature), your data is encrypted before being sent to our secure Appwrite backend. You can disable this feature at any time.

Staticar integrates with minimal third-party services:

• Appwrite: Backend-as-a-Service for optional cloud features (Premium)
• Google Play Services: For app distribution and updates only
• No advertising networks or trackers
• No social media integrations
• No third-party analytics beyond basic app performance

Staticar requests only necessary permissions:

• Storage: To save your vehicle data, photos, and documents locally
• Camera (optional): To take photos of receipts and vehicle documents
• Network Access: For optional cloud sync and app updates only
• Notifications: To send maintenance reminders you set up

We don't request location, contacts, microphone, or other sensitive permissions unless absolutely necessary for a specific feature you choose to use.

Your data security is protected through:

• Local encryption: Vehicle data is encrypted on your device
• Secure cloud storage: Optional cloud data is encrypted end-to-end
• No plain-text storage: Sensitive data is always encrypted
• Regular security updates: App and dependencies kept up-to-date
• Minimal attack surface: Local-first design reduces security risks

Staticar does not sell, rent, or share your personal or vehicle data with third parties.

Data may only be disclosed in these exceptional circumstances:

• When required by law or legal process
• To protect the safety and security of users
• With your explicit consent

No marketing or advertising: Your data is never used for marketing purposes or shared with advertisers.

You have full control over your data:

• Export: Export your vehicle data to CSV/PDF formats
• Local control: All local data can be deleted by uninstalling the app
• Cloud data deletion: Request deletion of cloud data through the app settings
• Account deletion: Delete your account and all associated data

Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

Staticar is specifically designed for the French market but respects international privacy standards:

• GDPR Compliance: Full compliance with European data protection regulations
• Data localization: EU user data remains in EU servers when cloud sync is used
• Language support: Multi-language privacy policy available
• Right to be forgotten: Full support for data deletion rights

When this privacy policy is updated:

• The "Last updated" date will be changed
• Major changes will be communicated through in-app notifications
• You will be asked to review and accept significant policy changes
• The privacy-first approach will always remain unchanged
